Why can't anyone mention a person's race as reality and the way it is? The color of skin or the accent. Why must these be "racial" or insulting when it is just one of the consideratons of a political race? It does matter.
Senator Reid is being forced to call everyone African-American and apologize for assessing Obama's chances before the election because he said he was "light skinned and does not have a Negro accent unless he wants to." I can see the last part may be offensive, and I guess the world "Negro" cannot even be used anymore, it all has to be so politically corrrect and euphemistic, nothing real or practical.
We are afraid to be blunt and truthful, we have to be hypocritical and fakey and pretend not to see any elephant in the room in any situation anymore. I don't think this is mentally healthy for our culture. |

I am an old dog, and you can't teach me new tricks, so I refuse to follow the trend of the day (political correctness) and subject myself or anyone else to what is not truely me. I was taught that there were 4 races of people in biology, based on cranial facial difference. Caucasoid, Negroid, Mongoloid & Australoid, and do not find any of the terms offensive. But now that the races are blending there may be a need to coin other terms for mixed races.
I find the whole political correctness trend annoying and absurd. Have you ever wondered what negros are called in other countries? African Swedish, African French, African Turkish.. Its insane. _________________ Peace is not something you wish for; it’s something you make, something you do, something you are, and something you give away. |

Thanks, Deb. How true.
Obama said today that Reid is a good man who does great work, and that Reid was complimenting him, trying to say something nice about him. It is ridiculous to try to turn into something bad, he said. |
